5. We are widely remembered for our visit by Rick Stein in 2002. He said it was 'the best fish and chips he had ever tasted'. We also subsequently appeared in his BBC show 'Food Heroes'

Oh my goodness... where to start. Myself and my husband were in Oban from Glasgow and decided to stop here for lunch after seeing it was voted 3rd best in the UK and Rick Stein had said it was the best Fish & Chips he had tasted. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by server Joanna who was so pleasant and smiley. Nothing was too much trouble. I decided on Fish & Chips and hubby had battered Smoked Sausage & Chips. I ordered coleslaw, hubby had mushy peas. The food was absolutely AMAZING. It was by far the best I had ever tasted anywhere. We asked for our compliments to be passed on to the fryer. He actually came to our table and introduced himself as Sammie. What a lovely man. He thanked us for our feedback and was such a genuine guy. We will 1 million % be back there and definitely recommend it every time. Wish I could have it delivered. Actually didn't eat for the rest of the day.
